Happy Birthday Edith Wharton

In 1920, Edith Wharton published ‘The Age of Innocence.’ A year later the book received the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, making her the first woman to win the award. Later she would also be nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature three times. She was insightful critical of late nineteenth century upper class society, often using dramatic irony. Today marks her 152nd birthday (yes, she is still alive at 152 years.)
